Who we are

We are an independent, multi-disciplinary team drawn from Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Social Work.  We have combined experience of working;

  • Within the child protection system

  • With children in foster care and adoption

  • With children and adolescents who display Harmful Sexual Behaviours (HSB)

  • With adults in the prison system

  • With teachers and children in schools

  • Mental Health & Forensic Services

Our experience has given us valuable insight into the impact of Trauma  and the importance of Attachment on family functioning, parental capacity and child development.  Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) have far-reaching implications across family generations and individual life spans.  When things go wrong, the consequences for children and their parents can be serious, if not devastating, due to the nature of Loss and Trauma experienced.

Our experience and post-graduate training have taught us that Attachment and Trauma are complex issues that require a multi-disciplinary approach.  Therefore, our assessments are collaborative and contain a variety of inputs.  Our experience has highlighted the need for comprehensive assessments that take a broad view to support professional decision-making in care/therapeutic planning and the considerations of reuniting for children and their families. In addition, our team receives external supervision from leading experts in the field of Attachment and Trauma for both adults and children.
